The report from Romano states that Manchester United are close to announcing the signing of Onana from Inter Milan. The update confirms that the transfer should be confirmed by the end of next week.
A previous update from Romano confirmed the Cameroon international has agreed personal terms with the Red Devils. The final bid is expected to arrive next week, with United wanting Onana to travel for the club’s preseason tour of America.
Romano has also confirmed recently that Manchester United are not looking at any other options to replace David de Gea, with Erik ten Hag only wanting Onana.

Ten Hag Wants a New Number One Goalkeeper
David de Geas’s departure from Manchester United has now been confirmed. After making 545 appearances for the Red Devils, since he joined in 2011, the Spanish international has failed to agree a new deal and has now left the club.
Ten Hag desires a ball-playing goalkeeper to help implement his long-term philosophy, which has led the Dutch manager to desire Onana who has previously been described as “exceptional.”

Onana is known as an exceptional ball-playing goalkeeper, in stark contrast to the recently departed De Gea. The Cameroonian goalkeeper is remarkably comfortable with the ball at his feet and rarely looks flustered in possession, making him a vital weapon in helping Ten Hag implement his philosophy of playing out from the back, should they complete the deal for the Inter Milan goalkeeper.
Ten Hag has made a bold choice in replacing De Gea after 12 seasons at Old Trafford. He has identified Onana as his clear preference to be number one, and it seems he is “really close” to obtaining his target.
