‘I WANT TO TALK’: MAURICIO POCHETTINO WILL CONTACT ‘GREAT GUY’ TOTTENHAM OFFLOADED IN 2022

Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino has said that he will try to contact Everton midfielder Dele Alli, a player he managed at Tottenham Hotspur.

Mauricio Pochettino, who was appointed the Chelsea manager earlier this summer, has praised Dele Alli, who joined Everton from Tottenham Hotspur in February 2022.

Pochettino managed the 27-year-old attacking midfielder during his time at Spurs.

It was under the Argentine manager that Alli flourished and was one of the best young players in the Premier League at one point.

However, Alli has struggled for the past few years now.

After falling down the pecking order at Spurs, the Englishman moved to Everton where he failed to make an impact.

Alli’s loan spell at Besiktas last season did not yield much positive results either.

The attacking midfielder is back at Everton now, and Pochettino has said that he plans to speak to him.

Mauricio Pochettino on Dele Alli

Pochettino told The Sun about Alli: “I hope to have some time to call and see because he is a great guy and I want to talk a bit with him. I want to help him and see what is going on.”

The Chelsea boss added: “He’s still young. For sure, he has the mentality.”

What next?

Dele Alli is still 27, so there is time for the Everton player to resurrect his career.

Sean Dyche is the Everton manager, and perhaps under him, the midfielder could rediscover his form.

It is really nice and kind of Pochettino to offer to speak to Alli.

Pochettino knows the attacking midfielder insider out, and perhaps a chat with the Chelsea boss could get Alli back on track.
