Big Conor Gallagher twist emerges amidst strong links with West Ham
Big Conor Gallagher twist with West Ham United reportedly now confident of signing the Chelsea star.
That’s according to a report from the Evening Standard, who claim that West Ham are optimistic of beating Tottenham to the signature of Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher in the summer transfer window.
That report is in stark contrast to claims from the last couple of days that suggested the 23-year-old will not be leaving Chelsea this summer.
Hammers boss David Moyes definitely needs to bolster his central midfield ranks at the London Stadium this summer, after Declan Rice left to join Arsenal.
Gallagher would be a strong addition for us, but only at the right price. It seems as though Chelsea will be demanding £50 million for him though (talkSPORT) – and that’s just too much money for us to pay as far as I’m concerned.

Big Conor Gallagher twist emerges amidst strong links with West Ham
The Standard reckon that the Hammers are confident of winning the race for the seven-capped England International before the summer transfer window slams shut.
That’s in despite of Gallagher allegedly wanting to remain at Stamford Bridge and fight for his place under Mauricio Pochettino.
Will Moyes ever learn that dragged out transfer pursuits of players who aren’t convinced about joining West Ham almost always end in tears? Just look at the Jesse Lingard saga!
This just sounds to me like we’re going to invest loads more time into a potential transfer for someone who doesn’t actually want to join us and is too expensive in the first place!
Why not go for Ibrahim Sangare, Sofyan Amrabat or Manu Kone? There is plenty of value to be had in the market.
Conor Gallagher would definitely be a useful addition for West Ham but not for £50 million he wouldn’t. Let’s hope that Moyes doesn’t spend all summer long chasing the Chelsea midfielder.
