With Jordan Henderson’s emotional exit from Liverpool fully confirmed on Thursday, you can’t blame us for starting off with a positive, right?

The Reds have seemingly been handed a boost in their pursuit of Romeo Lavia, as Ben Jacobs reports the midfielder is prepared to reject any advance from Chelsea as he is already sold on a move to Merseyside.

The London club are believed to be preparing a rival offer for the Southampton man that is higher than Liverpool’s at this stage.

The Chelsea counter is coming. #CFC ready to move for Lavia and even prepared to table a higher offer than #LFC, having bid £50m for him a year ago. But Lavia is still sold on Liverpool. A move to Anfield remains more likely at this stage.
