Bayern Munich transfer ‘tactics’ are ‘working’ on Tottenham as Kane ‘mega deal’ is revealed

Bayern Munich’s transfer ‘tactics’ are now ‘working on’ Tottenham as they move closer to signing Harry Kane, according to reports.

The England international has entered the final year of his contract at Spurs with the north Londoners at risk of losing their prized asset for nothing at the end of the season.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has been adamant that Kane will not be leaving the club this summer but his stance may now have to soften.

A report earlier this week claimed that Spurs owner Joe Lewis has ordered Levy to sell Kane if the England captain refuses to sign a new deal before the end of the transfer window.

There have been reports that this information has peaked Manchester United’s interest after they ditched their hopes of signing Kane earlier in the transfer window.

But it is Bayern Munich who are leading the way with German newspaper Bild insisting that the Bavarians have been ‘working on’ getting Kane to commit to the Bundesliga champions for weeks.

Kane will receive a ‘mega deal’ from Bayern if he signs on the dotted line with speculation he could even land a five-year deal despite the Germans usually only providing one-year deals to players over the age of 30.

The 29-year-old, who turns 30 in two days, can expect a salary in excess of €20m from Bayern and there is now a belief at the German club that their transfer ‘tactics’ are finally paying off.

It is understood that their plan ‘seem to be working’ with expectations that the transfer ‘could be perfect’ by the end of July.

New Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou is aware that Kane’s future needs sorting out sooner rather than later as it continues to dominate the build-up to the new season.

“I think, for everyone concerned, we don’t want to be doing it for too long. I don’t think that is good for anyone. I don’t think it is good for Harry, I don’t think it is good for the club,” Postecoglou said recently.

“Because as laser focused as we want to be, you end up sort of repeating yourself along the way. But the flip side of that is I don’t want to put a deadline on it, because that adds even more pressure.

“You want these things to happen for the right reasons. The reality of it is he’s still a contracted player at our football club, so that’s the way I see him.”
