LIVERPOOL TIPPED TO SIGN ‘GREAT’ PLAYER, INSTEAD OF DECLAN RICE, TO PLAY WITH MAC ALLISTER
Stevie Nicol has tipped Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool to sign Moises Caicedo, instead of Declan Rice, to play alongside Alexis Mac Allister.
The opening few weeks of the 2023 summer transfer window seem to be about the battle of the midfielders, with Declan Rice hitting the headlines and Moises Caicedo expected to leave Brighton.
Alexis Mac Allister has already done that following his transfer to Liverpool and now Nicol thinks it would be ‘ideal’ if he joined his former Brighton and Hove Albion teammate joined him at Anfield, as he told ESPN.
Whilst it’s not great for the Brighton supporters, it does seem as though they will lose a few key players every summer and the same is happening again.
Previously, it has been the likes of Ben White, Marc Cucurella, Yves Bissouma and Leandro Trossard, as well as the recent sale of Mac Allister.
But could the Reds nab two Brighton players within the same transfer window? Well, a certain Anfield legend certainly hopes so, as he named the 21-year-old as his ‘dream’ signing this summer.

“I would have liked Declan Rice to go to Liverpool,” said Nicol. “But that’s not happening.
“So, I have gone with Caicedo because he’s a beast, especially at getting the ball back. I think, all the praise he gets, is for that work and all that energy. He actually disrupts the opposition. Gets the ball back.
“But he can play a little bit as well. Liverpool, at their best, under Klopp have had three players in the middle of the park that have done that. They have got the ball back and supplied the front three, regardless of what three it will be next season.
“So, if I can’t get Declan Rice, then I would like this guy in the middle of the park for Liverpool, alongside Mac Allister. What better situation to have for a manager than to have two great players coming in, who know each other so well, that it shouldn’t be a problem integrating? It’s an ideal scenario for Liverpool.”
