Harry Kane has caused Tottenham to run into a £40 million transfer dilemma for Ange Postecoglou.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy may have given Ange Postecoglou a problem with his stance on Harry Kane’s future.
Levy is adamant that Kane must serve out the remaining 12 months of his contract, fending off interest from the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid. The affected clubs have been told they will have to pay an England captaincy premium.
United have been warned that Spurs will not sell to a Premier League rival, while Real Madrid have reportedly been handed a mouth-watering £200million price tag.
But that attitude can be set up to blow up in Spurs’ faces.
Transfer target David Raya remains in the same situation as Kane, with just a one-year contract at Brentford, but the north Londoners are looking to lower the goalkeeper’s value.
Spurs desperately need a new stopper this summer.
Long serving Hugo Lloris has seen his strength wane in recent years and he has become prone to injury.
