Chelsea and Tottenham are now looking forward to the week ahead after another busy weekend of Premier League action. The Blues take on Servette in the second leg of their Europa Conference League qualifier on Thursday, while Spurs have clean week of preparations for their next Premier League outing.
The summer transfer window deadline is on Friday night, and both the Blues and Spurs will be working to finalise their squads ahead of that deadline. Here we round up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding both clubs.
Chelsea are said to be considering deals for a new striker and a new centre-back ahead of the deadline. That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who has told CaughtOffside: “Keep an eye on the striker situation, as another player they still like is Jhon Duran.”
He added: “And then a potential last-minute centre-back. It’s not guaranteed, it’s not sure, but they are discussing.” Chelsea need to offload a number of players ahead of the deadline, and that could become the main priority over any incomings.
Calvert-Lewin claim
Another striker Chelsea are being linked with is Everton frontman Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Victor Osimhen has been linked with the Blues all summer but could prove too expensive ahead of the deadline, costing in excess of £80million.
The Sun now say Calvert-Lewin could be an option for the Blues as they look to sign a striker without spending Osimhen-level money. Everton are said to want around £40million for their starting frontman, meaning Chelsea could save more than £40million on the deal.

Eze move unlikely
Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth believes Crystal Palace will price Tottenham out of a move for Eberechi Eze this summer amid ongoing links. He told Last Word on Spurs: “It certainly looks that way. Crystal Palace don’t want to lose yet another player. We have seen Olise go, and the Guehi deal won’t go away, Joachim Andersen is on his way to Fulham.
“One thing in Palace’s favour now is that they hold the cards more than they did last week, that’s because of the release clause, it has expired. If someone comes in with silly money they would have to consider that, because they’re Crystal Palace.”
