Alan Myers shares how many more signings he thinks Everton will make this summer

Everton have made four signings so far this summer as the Toffees now turn their focus on their first game of the new Premier League campaign next week.

Sean Dyche has been able to see his new additions in action already with the four signings brought in with plenty of time before the season opener.

There has been a lot of uncertainty surrounding Everton‘s long term future over the summer following the collapse of The Friedkin Group’s takeover bid.

However, on Friday, John Textor submitted a new bid for Everton as he hopes to reignite his ambition to purchase the Merseyside club.

This comes with around three weeks remaining in the market which could provide Everton with some instilled confidence to open up the chequebook a little bit further this summer.

Alan Myers expects more arrivals at Everton
Following the 2023/24 campaign, Everton will have been well aware of the areas which they needed to bolster in the market.

Everton had the second-worst record in front of goal in the entire league last season; whilst their defence was the fourth best.

However, the goalposts may have shifted slightly with the sale of Amadou Onana to Aston Villa which did bring in a hefty £50m.

This has seen Everton since show a real interest in the potential signing of Kalvin Phillips from Manchester City on loan.

According to the Sky Sports journalist Alan Myers, Everton fans could potentially see at least another two new faces land on Merseyside before the deadline at the end of the month.

“I would say two. I’ll go for safety, I’ll say two,” Myers said on the View From The Bullens podcast.

“I would like three, but I’m going safety. You never know, we’ve seen the likes of Holgate, Keane, Maupay all of these players mentioned about leaving. If they go, then there’s players to replace.

“But there’s no science to transfers, you never know.”

Will Everton’s potential takeover affect their summer business?
Everton will now be hoping it is a case of third time lucky as Textor has put forward his interest in the form of a new bid.

Myers has already suggested Everton are financially sound for the short term as the takeover saga goes on in the background.

However, there will be some concerns as to where Everton stand financially in the longer term.

But if Textor and his party of interested investors are able to really show their interest over the coming days then it could provide Everton some further freedom to spend in the market.
