The social-media post read, “Forever a Titan.” But the reason for it was because running back Derrick Henry no longer is with Tennessee.
The Ravens announced on Wednesday the former Alabama All-American would be in Baltimore on Thursday to sign his contract and hold an introductory press conference at 10:30 a.m. CDT.

Henry became an unrestricted NFL free agent on Wednesday afternoon and agreed to a two-year, $16 million contract with the Ravens. That came after the Tennessee Titans agreed to bring in Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard for a three-year, $24 million contract.

With Henry departing, Amy Adams Strunk posted a goodbye to the running back, who joined Tennessee in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
“From the moment he arrived in Nashville, Derrick delivered a phenomenal on-field performance and displayed the highest level of leadership,” the controlling owner of the Titans wrote. “With every yard gained in Nissan Stadium and every hour of service given to the community, he became further woven into the fabric of this city and our Titans family. We extend our deepest gratitude to Derrick and his family for their time with our organization. His legacy in Nashville will be marked by unmatched perseverance, tenacity and a true friendship with Titans fans – one we know will endure for decades to come.”
The previous time that Henry was eligible for free agency, Tennessee signed him to a four-year, $50 million contract in 2020. Henry responded by becoming the eighth player to record 2,000 rushing yards in a single season as he led the NFL in rushing for the second straight year.
After a broken foot limited Henry to eight regular-season games in 2021, he has finished second in the NFL in rushing yards in 2022 and 2023.
In 119 regular-season games with Tennessee, Henry ran for 9,502 yards and a franchise-record 90 touchdowns on 2,030 carries, caught 155 passes for 1,458 yards and three touchdowns and completed 7-of-9 passes for 37 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions.
In seven playoff games, Henry ran for 732 yards and four touchdowns on 156 carries, caught 13 passes for 88 yards and completed his only pass for a touchdown.
