“Brighton’s Ambitious Squad Evolution: Hurzeler’s Vision for the 2024-25 Season”
The Premier League schedule has been released, outlining Brighton’s potential starting line-ups for matches against Everton and Manchester United.
Fabian Hurzeler, newly appointed as manager, will lead Brighton in their first match against Everton at Goodison Park on August 17, marking his debut in the English top flight after joining from St Pauli.
Brighton’s home debut under Hurzeler at the Amex Stadium will follow against Manchester United on August 24, with a challenging start to the season concluding away at Arsenal on August 31. Hurzeler, the youngest permanent manager in Premier League history following Roberto De Zerbi’s tenure, aims to strengthen Brighton’s squad during the transfer window after their 11th place finish last season.
Carlo Baleba – CM: Brighton have high expectations for their central midfielder this season. The former Lille player possesses the skills and strength needed to excel as one of the Premier League’s top midfielders.
Billy Gilmour – CM: If Pascal Gross departs this summer, Brighton’s Scottish international could step up as a seasoned leader in the team’s midfield.
Emile Smith Rowe – CM: Brighton continues to be linked with the Arsenal midfielder, who at 23 years old would bring quality to the squad. Arsenal reportedly values him at around £30 million.
Crysencio Summerville – RW: Brighton is in discussions with Leeds United for the 22-year-old winger, who scored 19 goals and provided nine assists last season. Valued between £35-40 million, he was the Championship Player of the Season.
Joao Pedro – CF: The Brazilian striker scored 20 goals across all competitions last season for Brighton, following his £30 million transfer from Watford. There’s a sense that Pedro has even more to offer this season.
Kaoru Mitoma – LW: Expected to recover from his back injury for the new season, the Japan international, 27, is known for his electrifying performances. Hurzeler anticipates Mitoma returning to his peak form.
