Breaking news: Major Celtics concern revealed by the Heat icon in the midst of a title bid
Although they have had a few slow games this postseason in the NBA Playoffs, the Boston Celtics have generally performed well. In the opening round of the playoffs, the Celtics faced the Miami Heat, and they prevailed in five games overall. Boston was dominating the first round until they lost the second game at home. The Celtics are currently playing the Cavaliers in Cleveland, and the series seems to be going in the same direction.
Similar to what happened against the Heat, Boston won game one against the Cavaliers before losing game two at home. The series then turned to Cleveland, where the Celtics won both games three and four with ease. They currently lead the series 3-1 and need only one more victory to secure a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals.
The Celtics, who concluded the regular season with a 64-18 record, were by far the greatest team in the East and the NBA for the whole campaign. After 14 games, the New York Knicks were 14th in the East after finishing in second place. Madness.
The Oklahoma City Thunder and Denver Nuggets, who finished seven games behind the Celtics with a 57-25 record, shared the top record in the West. Because they were the top team in the league the whole season, Boston is the clear favorite to win everything.
Although Udonis Haslem, a former Heat player, is optimistic about the Celtics’ chances of making the playoffs, they are now in a strong position. Since most of the best teams in the NBA are in the West, Boston isn’t really being tested at this point. Haslem believes that if the Celtics aren’t put to the test before the NBA Finals, it might be detrimental.
According to Udonis Haslem, “[The Celtics] haven’t been battle tested yet,” on ESPN. “I’m not sure if you want to face down [the Nuggets] or [the Timberwolves] in the Finals and be put to the test.” Perhaps it’s already too late.
Udonis Haslem makes an insightful observation. When the Celtics play a team that is superior to the opposition they saw in the East in the NBA Finals, they can be taken off guard. As the postseason goes on, that will be something to consider.
A Celtics loss prior to the finals would be shocking.
Even though they haven’t advanced past the Eastern Conference Finals, the Celtics appear to be a lock to win the NBA. There’s really not much competition in the East this year, and Boston is the clear favorite to win the conference.
Boston would face either the New York Knicks or the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals if they can defeat the Cavaliers, which they are predicted to do on Wednesday because they are heavy favorites at home. Both teams are strong, and the series is currently deadlocked at two. But are they strong enough to defeat the Celtics? Most likely not. Boston appears ready for a postseason run.
