Ex-Everton employee slams 777 Partners takeover at Goodison Park as he shares what he’s been told

Bryan King believes prospective Everton owners 777 Partners are not the most suitable fit for the Merseyside outfit.
The verdict comes amid the news that the firm are privately “pessimistic” of its chances to complete a takeover at Goodison Park [Josimar, 9 January].
As per the official Everton website (15 September 2023), 777 reached an agreement with Farhad Moshiri to acquire his full stake in the club.
Speaking to Goodison News, King said: “They’ve got three scenarios here really. If the stadium gets finished and Everton get relegated and the deal falls through, that would obviously have an immediate impact on the club. And you never want to see a club in this kind of trouble anyway.
“I spoke to somebody in the week who thought the 777 deal would go through. He personally thought it was not the best solution for the club, although figures are being branded around, and if those figures come to fruition, then it will certainly get Everton out of it.
“But a lot of it is Iranian and Russian money. Personally I don’t think 777 are right for Everton. It doesn’t sound right to me.”
