“Dog abuse”: Jamie Carragher issues Everton fan admission after what happened recently

Recently, he wrote a column in the Telegraph after the Toffees responded to charges over a fresh rule breach.

He then saw talkSPORT and had his views echoed there which led him to send a message to the fans.

I got dogs abuse yesterday from Everton fans over this column for not supporting them. I stuck to my guns because I believe it to be right & having just listened to @slbsn on Talksport I’m glad I did!

He made the point Everton could be in breach of the PSR rules for next season…

Carragher wrote on Twitter: “I got dogs abuse yesterday from Everton fans over this column for not supporting them. I stuck to my guns because I believe it to be right & having just listened to @slbsn on Talksport I’m glad I did!

“He made the point Everton could be in breach of the PSR rules for next season as well!

“Everton are feeding a narrative to their own supporters that they are being hard done to, the 10pts may be harsh but as I said yesterday, the ownership is a shambles!”

Everton fans directing abuse at Carragher may be misguided as the former footballer makes valid points about Farhad Moshiri’s mismanagement.

The former Liverpool defender criticises Moshiri’s legacy, highlighting managerial sackings, financial chaos and wasted signings, all of which contribute to Everton’s current turmoil.

The critique extends to former executives who chose not to cooperate with the investigation, adding to the club’s accountability.

While Everton fans understandably feel frustrated and defensive, Carragher emphasises that the ultimate responsibility lies with Moshiri and his management team.

However, his disagreement with the Premier League’s handling of the situation, particularly the 10-point deduction, is where Everton fans may find common ground

It is evident to everyone that the Premier League is not taking a neutral view towards this and Carragher being a boyhood Evertonian does not mean he’s completely unbiased.
