Former Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has set the record for the best start to a season by a new Premier League manager after picking up three points against Fulham this evening. Goals from Son and James Maddison gave Tottenham a 2-0 win against Marco Silva’s team.

The result made it 23 points in 9 games for Big Ange as he continues to make light work of the Premier League. Mike Walker’s Norwich City team in 1992-93 season was equalled by Guus Hiddink in 2008-09 with Chelsea when he matched the tally of 22 points from 9 games.

Spurs fans have changed their turn on the Australian, who has brought the feel good factor with him from Glasgow to London. The media, too, are full of praise for Ange and his style of play after asking whether it was sustainable.

In two successful seasons, Ange won five domestic trophies and helped produce a scintillating product on the pitch.

Hopefully, Spurs can continue their run at the top of the table, where they sit two points clear of Manchester City and Arsenal.

Ange’s successor, Brendan Rodgers, has navigated the transition from the Aussie and now has his Celtic side playing attacking, attractive football. This was exemplified by the 4-1 win at Tynecastle on Sunday, the same ground that Ange clinched the title at earlier this year.
