Liverpool interested in signing ‘top’ record-breaking Premier League player
Liverpool are reportedly interested in Sheffield United teenager Daniel Jebbison, with the striker also wanted by Everton.
According to Yorkshire Live, the 19-year-old forward is on the Reds’ radar, with Jebbison entering into the final 12 months of his Blades contract as clubs begin to look into the attacker’s transfer situation.
A regular for England at youth level, the Canadian-born teenager is regarded as one of the most exciting talents in the entire country, with Jebbison still holding the Premier League record for the youngest player to score on their debut.
However, with just two goals in all competitions last season as Sheffield United won promotion back up to the Premier League, a change of scenery could be needed for Jebbison to hit his potential, with Liverpool an option.
Lauded by Oliver Norwood as a ‘top’ prospect, the Reds are no strangers to signing Premier League talents still young enough still have exciting potential but who just aren’t there yet in terms of becoming a regular.
And this is a profile that Jebbison fits to a tee, with the England youth international a potentially great signing for Liverpool this summer, with Sheffield United likely to want a reasonable fee given his contract situation.
Jebbison’s senior career has been interesting, to say the least, with the striker yet to fully break into Sheffield United’s starting XI despite being one of the best prospects at the club.
As a result, Liverpool could try their luck to sign Jebbison this summer, with the Blades unlikely to ask for much if the Reds were to make an official bid for the teenager.
Given Jebbison’s potential and homegrown status, Liverpool could view the teenager as a safe bet in the market, with the striker a player who could become an exciting prospect for the Reds.
