Graham Roberts has praised Tottenham Hotspur duo James Maddison and Harry Kane for their performances against Shakhtar Donetsk at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.

The former Tottenham Hotspur player has said on Twitter that attacking midfielder James Maddison was “class” in the pre-season friendly match against Shakhtar Donetsk, and has praised England international striker Harry Kane as well.

Kane scored as many as four goals for Spurs in North London today.

Tottenham won the match against Shakhtar 5-1.

Praise for Tottenham Hotspur duo James Maddison and Harry Kane

Maddison was brilliant for Spurs during his time on the pitch.

The England international playmaker, who joined Tottenham from Leicester City in the summer transfer window, was a constant source of chances.

It was Maddison whose quick feet drew the foul that result in the penalty for Spurs towards the end of the first half.

The playmaker created a chance for himself as soon after.

Maddison also provided a deep cross in the second half for Kane to score.

Maddison is one of the best English playmakers around, and we believe that he has been a superb signing for Tottenham.

Spurs now have a player who can truly replace Danish attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen in the team.

Maddison scored 10 goals and gave nine assists in 28 Premier League starts for Leicester last season.

The 26-year-old has made 163 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

The England international has scored 43 goals and given 32 assists in those matches.

Tottenham will be aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.

We believe that Maddison will be a big player for the North London club in that quest.
