Bayern Munich confident on Harry Kane transfer as Sadio Mane helps fund record bid

Thomas Tuchel is finally planning for life with Harry Kane at Bayern Munich.
The German giants are confident of agreeing a package deal worth around £90million that would tempt Tottenham into selling their prize asset. The deal would shatter Bayern’s previous club record, the £68m they paid for Lucas Hernandez in 2019.
But it will be partly funded by the £34m sale of former Liverpool forward Sadio Mane to Al Nassr. Mane has completed his transfer to the Saudi club, where he will play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo. The move comes just a year after he joined Bayern from Liverpool.
Bayern have a lucrative, five-year package on the table which would make Kane the highest earner at the club. The 30-year-old England captain is also understood to have an option for a further year.
Kane, who has just 12 months left on his Spurs contract, is understood to want his future resolved before the start of the new Premier League season in ten days’ time. With that in mind, Bayern club executives Jan-Christian Dreesen and Marco Neppe jetted into London at the start of this week for talks with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.
Tuchel has been determined to make Kane his spearhead after seeing Bayern scrape to their fortuitous title win last season. Rivals Borussia Dortmund entered the final day two points ahead in the table, but could only draw against Mainz, leaving Bayern to clinch their eleventh consecutive championship by beating Koln 2-1.
Tuchel wants a return to Bayern’s Bundesliga dominance with Robert Lewandowksi as their frontman for eight years between 2014 and 2022. During the Poland international’s time in Germany the club routinely lifted the title by a double-figure margin. Lewandowski also shot Bayern to their 2020 Champions League win over Paris St Germain.
