Liverpool told possible signing ‘can do everything’ – Agent confirms Reds interest in defender – Boss sends shock transfer message

Here is a roundup of the top Liverpool news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed –

Stevie Nicol has claimed that potential Liverpool signing Romeo Lavia has the ability ‘to do everything’

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –

“It does seem like a lot of money for a guy with very little experience,” said Nicol.

“However, I am sure they have looked at the stats. I am sure every single man and his dog, connected with LIVERPOOL, has watched this over and over, this guy live and on tape.

“I am sure they have dug into his background. Every single thing about him that will determine whether they go the extra mile and bring him in. At 19, you are talking about another ten years that he could maybe spend at Liverpool, if they think his game can go from where it is now.

“Let’s be honest, a 19-year-old playing in the Premier League, performing the way he did. I know it’s for Southampton, which is a different ball game to going to one of the giants of football.

‘But, as a 19-year-old, the future looks great for him. He can do everything. There’s a rawness to his game. He runs with the ball an awful lot.

“But listen, there was a 19-year-old that went to Liverpool a long time ago, who used to run with the ball a lot and he didn’t end up doing too bad – oh, yeah, that 19-year-old was me,”

AGENT CONFIRMS DORGU INTEREST –

LIVERPOOL are reportedly monitoring is Lecce defender Patrick Dorgu. This is according to the youngster’s agent.

Jurgen Klopp has done a little bit of transfer business this summer and added some players that have improved his attack – but there is still work to be done over the next couple of weeks.

the German knows that he needs to add some depth to the squad in other areas of the pitch – and a new defender will be needed at some point as injuries ravaged the club last campaign.

WHAT IS THE LATEST –

Kingsley Ogbodo has spoken to Sport Italia, reiterating that the Reds are eyeing his client and that he feels they’ll move for him.

Ogbodo has claimed that, while he hasn’t received any offers for Dorgu, he thinks a Liverpool bid is forthcoming.

“No, they (clubs) haven’t made any offers,” he said. “But it is very likely that Liverpool will make one.

“I don’t know if it will happen, but they are interested and they like the player.”

WILL DORGU ACTUALLY MAKE A MOVE TO ANFIELD?

If Liverpool are interested in the player – then they will get a transfer deal done – it is very hard for players to turn down the chance to work under Klopp at Liverpool.

However – event though he is a decent enough defender – he probably does not have the quality that it takes to be a LIVERPOOL player and would struggle to adapt to the Premier League.

So despite the words of his agent – we feel that Liverpool will not make an official move

SHOCK LAVIA CLAIM MADE –

Southampton manager Russell Martin insists Romeo Lavia “may still be here” come September after rejecting Liverpool’s bid.

It is no secret that LIVERPOOL boss Jurgen Klopp is not done with his transfer business for the summer and is very much interested in a deal for the talented Lavia.

Fabinho is a man that Klopp will need to replace after his decision to make the move to Saudi Arabia  – and Lavia is a midfielder that Klopp reportedly feels is ready to come to the club and help fill the void of the Brazilian star.

It has been claimed in recent days that Liverpool have made their first official move to get Lavia signed up and offered a fee around the £37 million mark – which has been rejected by the Saints.

Lavia started against Bournemouth but was taken off at half-time, as according to journalists in attendance at St Mary’s, the teenager looked ‘uninterested’ and was ‘coasting’ through the game.

However – his boss Martin was pleased with his performance against Bournemouth and has claimed that the midfielder will still be at the club come September.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –

“Pleased with his attitude, easiest thing to do would be to not play tonight,” Martin told reporters. “Not easy for a young player to handle the noise, but he’s handled it well. Latest news is very public, he may still be here he may not.”

IS LAVIA READY FOR LIVERPOOL?

To play for one of the biggest clubs in the world alongside some of the best stars and one of the best coaches in the game – Lavia NEEDS TO BE READY.

He will get a bigger wage and more pressure to perform – so he needs to make sure that a move to Anfield at this stage of his career is the correct one to make.

He is a talent and a lad for the future – but we are sure that £50 million is far too much to pay and the Saints need to budge before a deal can happen.
