Where Does Tapsoba Sit On Spurs’ Transfer Priority List?
The Lilywhites had a poor defensive record in the Premier League last season, conceding 63 goals in 38 games, which was the most conceded by any side in the top 15.
Romano claims that despite there being silence on Spurs’ chase for a new centre-back, they are still holding discussions to sign Tapsoba. It’s added that the North London heavyweights are actively working to find a solution that benefits all the parties amid rumours that the centre-back is valued at £50 million.
Romano also mentions that Tottenham are focused on the situation revolving around Harry Kane and his links to Bayern Munich – but are still attentive to more signings in the summer window. Romano claims that Tapsoba is on top of their transfer wishlist, as they seem to be envisioning the 22-year-old as the ideal centre-back to pair alongside Cristian Romero in Ange Postecoglou’s system.
Tottenham Enjoying Busy Summer Window Under Postecoglou
After their dismal season that involved multiple managerial changes in the 22/23 campaign, Spurs have been working on improving their squad and giving their new manager his desired targets to help them challenge in the Premier League again. They have made an impressive coup in signing James Maddison from Leicester City to add more flair to their midfield, while Pedro Porro and Dejan Kulusevki were both signed permanently after their loan spells.
Spurs also pushed to find a new no.1 in Italian man Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli and also pulled off another deal in signing former Fulham winger Manor Solomon on a free transfer. They seem to be intent on signing at least one more defender while they deal with the Kane situation.
