Man Utd offer lucrative terms to sign £173million star – Report
Paris Saint-Germain and Kylian Mbappe’s public tussle over his future has attracted the attention of Man Utd, who are reportedly prepared to make a lucrative offer for the French star’s services.
Early in the summer, Mbappe publicly declared his intentions to not extend his stay in the French capital beyond the summer of 2024 but insisted he wanted to remain at Parc des Princes for the upcoming season.
However, the club’s hierarchy is adamant about not losing their biggest star for nothing next summer and have taken bold measures, including dropping the 24-year-old from the squad of their pre-season tour of Japan.
With Mbappe officially up for sale, it’s being claimed by Fichajes that the Red Devils are the first club on the scene with a proposal despite being aware of the challenges of pursuing such a sought-after player.
They say United have presented a ‘juicy financial proposal’ to lure Mbappe to move to Old Trafford. In their bid to make the switch happen, the English outfit are prepared to cough up close to 120 million euros (£104m) in fixed payments and 45 million euros (£40m) in add-ons.
Much has been written about United’s precarious position in the transfer market this summer due to financial fair play, but the Spanish outlet claims United are in a strong position in the Mbappe race due to the financial strength of the Premier League.
Interestingly, it is suggested that a more challenging task for United is to convince the superstar himself as he has his heart set on Real Madrid.
But for a move to Madrid, the France international might have to wait another 12 months, as Los Blancos are unlikely to meet PSG’s reported price tag of 200 million euros (£173million) this summer, having committed a lot of investment into its new stadium and on signing Bellingham.
All things considered, Mbappe will have to either show great resilience against PSG’s powerful decision-makers to run down his contract or accept a move to another club.
In that scenario, United appear to be ready to roll out the red carpet for the player. With the pacey forward involved in over 50 goals last season and Erik ten Hag on the hunt for a goal-scorer, it is easy to see why this saga may have erupted.
