Postecoglou told triple transfer could help Kane make huge Spurs decision

Ange Postecoglou could fast-track his plan to rebuild Tottenham Hotspur with just three more arrivals. The Lilywhites enjoyed a busy start to the summer transfer window with the arrival of three new faces, and they’ve shown no sign of slowing down.

Daniel Levy began by tying down Dejan Kulusevski and Pedro Porro to long-term contracts in north London. While the duo struggled to impress under Antonio Conte, they’re expected to play starring roles for Spurs this season as Postecoglou reintroduces free-flowing, attractive football.

As part of Tottenham’s rebranding on the pitch, the Australian has also acquired a new goalkeeper, creative midfielder and winger. With Postecoglou eager to instil a progressive, forward-thinking play-style, Guglielmo Vicario, James Maddison and Manor Solomon are transformative signings who could prove significant in the race for Champions League qualification.

Spurs face tough competition in the race for top-four and holding onto Harry Kane could prove to be a deciding factor. Prior to the departure of Fabio Paratici in April, football.london understood that Spurs had been in contact with the 29-year-old striker’s entourage to discuss a new deal.

Kane is believed to be in no rush to sign an extension while he assesses his options. Whether he decides to leave this summer, depart as a free agent next year or sign a new contract later this term, Tottenham must do whatever it takes to persuade the Englishman to stay – even if it means splashing £120million on Conor Gallagher, Micky van de Ven and Edmond Tapsoba.

football.london understands that Gallagher is considering his future at Chelsea having been subject to plenty of interest from numerous clubs in the Premier League. It’s believed that Tottenham are among those who are keen on the 23-year-old midfielder, with Postecoglou a big admirer.

Newcastle United and West Ham have also expressed an interest in Gallagher, who sees his contract at Stamford Bridge expire in two-years. It remains to be seen whether Mauricio Pochettino will look to cash in on the Cobham graduate after the Blues have already offloaded N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic and Mason Mount from their midfield this summer.

As for Van de Ven and Tapsoba, they’ve both been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham recently as Postecoglou looks to finally bolster the Lilywhites’ backline. football.london understands that Spurs have held discussions over the duo, with Dutch media claiming that talks over personal terms with the Wolfsburg star’s camp have now progressed to an advanced stage.
