Pundit thinks player swapping Spurs for Newcastle would be a ‘sideways move’
Peter Crouch believes that Manchester United are the only realistic destination for Harry Kane if the striker leaves Tottenham this summer.
The reports coming out of Spurs over the last couple of weeks have suggested that they have no intention of selling Kane this summer and that the club have informed the striker’s entourage that they will not be listening to offers for him (90 min).

However, it was reported by The Daily Mail earlier this week that the England captain is hoping that Daniel Levy will relax his stance and that United will resurrect their interest.
This was followed up by an update in The Sun a couple of days ago which suggested that the Red Devils have made it clear to Kane that he has to put in a transfer request if he wishes to move to Old Trafford this summer.
Man United the only option for Harry Kane
There have also been some suggestions over the past few days that Paris Saint-Germain are eyeing a move for the 29-year-old (Le Parisien) but Crouch has now suggested that joining Erik Ten Hag’s men is the only viable option for the centre-forward this summer.
When asked if Kane could potentially make a shock move to Newcastle United, the former Spurs striker told talkSPORT (22/06/23 at 8:40 am): “Manchester United is the only real option for Kane.
“Newcastle is a bit, I would class it as a sideways move. I know they are moving in the right direction and we aren’t sure where Tottenham are.”

Manchester United and Real Madrid (whose interest now seems to have cooled) were always the only viable destinations for Kane this summer.
I do not think the speculation linking the striker to the likes of Chelsea, Newcastle, PSG and Bayern Munich ever had any legs.
As things stand, it appears overwhelmingly likely that the England captain will remain at Tottenham and run into the final year of his contract.
