Manchester United have told Harry Kane to put in a transfer request as per the latest report.
That’s according to The Sun who claim that United want Kane to force a move despite Tottenham not willing to sell him.
United have been heavily linked with a move for him and had reportedly made him their top summer target.
However they have grown frustrated in trying to negotiate with Daniel Levy who does not want to sell him on a cheap to a Premier League rival.
Daily Mail previously reported that United are ending their interest in him due to Spurs £100m demand.
However, it adds that the player himself wants the ‘move to happen’.
As per the report, Kane ‘desperately wants the move’ and United ‘urgently require a striker’.
They have asked the England striker to force a summer exit as they do not want the transfer saga to drag around all summer.
They have already started looking for alternatives with Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund and Victor Osimhen two names mentioned.
Kane who is not getting any younger has yet to win a trophy in his career which is one of the reasons why he wants to make a move.
The 29-year-old has one year left in his current Spurs contract and there have been no suggestions of a contract extension.
The England striker has enjoyed an illustrious career so far but the only thing absent from it is silverware.
Real Madrid, PSG and Bayern are also interested in signing him but the player’s desire to beat Alan Shearer’s Premier League record could see him stay in England.
