£50m target Everton wanted this year now put up for sale ahead of January window
Conor Gallagher was chased relentlessly by Everton last January and now he has reportedly been placed up for sale ahead of this upcoming window.
Everton have held an interest in Conor Gallagher for quite a while now, stretching back in particular to last January where the midfielder was heavily linked with a move.
Last January, after Sean Dyche was brought to Goodison Park, Gallagher was mentioned as a player they were keen on bringing in the strengthen the midfield.
Ultimately the Chelsea Academy graduate refused the move which saw Everton then continue to struggle before surviving relegation.
But fast forward 12 months and Everton are in a far better position than they were, with Dyche’s Everton only behind Chelsea in the league due to the points deduction.
Could this mean a move is potentially on the cards ahead of this upcoming window?

According to Mail Sport, Chelsea are considering the shocking sale of homegrown talent Conor Gallagher in January.

It comes as the report mentions that certain figures at the London club argue that selling Gallagher makes financial sense given he is homegrown and would therefore represent pure profit.
Tottenham Hotspur are the team who are suggested as being the likeliest destination but that shouldn’t stop Everton from considering an offer if the funds are available.
Mauricio Pochettinho is keen on gaining the funds which could fund his move for a striker in the form of Ivan Toney.
How likely is Conor Gallagher to join Everton?
Gallagher was part of the Chelsea side who were well beaten by Everton this past weekend which means he has already seen up close and personal the improvements this Everton side have undergone.
We reported last week that Everton will have some room to do business and given recent departures and the prospect of further departures, Everton should have no problem paying the wage of the £50k-a-week midfielder.
The only problem is that Gallagher currently has a transfer market value of £51.5m according to CIES, a fee which wouldn’t be sensible for the Toffees to part with unless a big sale occurred.
Gallagher is also likelier to choose the option of Spurs if it available to him, given the difference in current standing between the clubs.
