Making progress: ‘Getting better and better’: Moyes blown away by ‘outstanding’ £16 million West Ham ace

West Ham manager David Moyes has been speaking to the club’s website about one player who has really impressed him this season.

David Moyes has an incredibly talented squad of players at his disposal at West Ham after some fantastic summer recruitment.

The Hammers have been absolutely flying this season, and whilst the new signings have been superb for us, it has been one of our old stalwarts who has probably been our best player.

Jarrod Bowen has been quite simply exceptional for West Ham this season, with five goals and two assists to his name already (Transfermarkt).

The 26-year-old put pen-to-paper on a new seven year contract yesterday, and Moyes has waxed lyrical about the former Hull City forward after the new deal was announced…

The Hammers forward is clearly one of Moyes’s most trusted on-field lieutenants.

“We’re delighted Jarrod has agreed a new deal. It’s a brilliant piece of business from the club to tie him down to a new long-term contract. His goal in Prague will live long in the memory for everyone connected to West Ham – it’s given him a platform to go from strength to strength and we’re really reaping the benefits, he’s getting better and better. He’s a fantastic boy and an outstanding professional – I’m sure his positive progress will continue over the course of his new contract.”

Signed for an initial £16 million fee back in January 2020 (Evening Standard), Bowen has gone from strength to strength at the London Stadium.

The 26-year-old is now a four-capped England international and has just been included in Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions squad for the upcoming fixtures against Australia and Italy.

Bowen is ready to reach the very top level now in my opinion. He’s more than capable of racking up 30 combined goals and assists for West Ham each season. And he’s ready to play a key role for England as well.

What a superb player we have on our hands. He’s still as hard-working and humble as they come. That makes him even more special as far as I’m concerned.

Here’s to Bowen continuing his fine form on throughout the entire season. The fact that he has committed his long-term future to West Ham is absolutely fantastic news.
