“Tottenham Accused of Exploiting Ukraine Conflict: Shakhtar Threatens Legal Action”
Shakhtar Donetsk may take legal action against Tottenham Hotspur over the Manor Solomon transfer after failed negotiations.
Shakhtar’s president, Serhiy Palkin, criticized Tottenham’s conduct as “not acceptable” and suggested legal recourse is likely, similar to their case against Lyon over Mateus Tete, as they seek fair compensation.
Solomon, among players impacted by the Ukraine war, was able to suspend his contract with Shakhtar due to a FIFA ruling. He initially joined Fulham on loan and later signed a long-term deal with Spurs, despite still being under contract with Shakhtar.
Palkin noted that other clubs, like Real Madrid and Corinthians, have handled similar situations without “dirty games,” contrasting their behavior with Tottenham’s.
In an interview, Palkin expressed disappointment with Tottenham, accusing them of taking advantage of the war and offering an unfair deal. Shakhtar has paused negotiations and will await the outcome of their legal case against Lyon before deciding on further actions against Tottenham.
