Darren Bent doesn’t want £175,000-a-week Tottenham player at Arsenal

TalkSPORT pundit Darren Bent has said that he would not want Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal to sign Richarlison from Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur.

Bent, who played for Tottenham Hotspur and supports Arsenal, has said that he would rather have Folarin Balogun at the Emirates Stadium than Richarlison.

Darren Bent doesn’t want Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison at Arsenal

Arsenal sold USA international striker Balogun to AS Monaco in the summer transfer window.

The talkSPORT pundit made the comments about Richarlison when asked to pick which player he would like the Gunners to sign the least – Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho, Richarlison or Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk.

Bent picked the £175,000-a-week (SalarySport) Brazil international forward.

Interestingly, Richarlison said in September 2022 that before he moved to Tottenham in the summer of 2022, Arsenal wanted to sign him.

The Brazil international forward claimed that Chelsea were also keen on him.

The pundit said on talkSPORT (5:45pm, September 7, 2023): “Richarlison. No. I would rather have Balogun who has just gone. Nketiah, Gabriel Jesus ahead of him.”

Richarlison needs to do better at Tottenham Hotspur

Richarlison has been struggling to play well for Tottenham Hotspur, and he does need to do better.

The 26-year-old needs to take advantage of Harry Kane’s departure from Spurs and make himself the main source of goals for Tottenham.

James Maddison is playing well for Spurs.

The attacking midfielder is creating chances and Richarlison needs to make sure that he makes the most of them.

The Tottenham no. 9 has scored zero goal in three starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League so far this season.

The Brazil international forward has scored one goal in one EFL Cup match this campaign.

Richarlison has made 204 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

The forward has scored 49 goals and given 19 assists in those games.
