Skip Bayless Makes Strong Statement About LeBron James, Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers haven’t gotten off to the start of the season they hoped for.

They’re 2-2 and haven’t looked as dominant as they did later last year.

Even so, it’s still early in the season, and coach Darvin Ham is still integrating some of his new pieces.

Still, there has been a lot of talk about LeBron James getting his minutes limited and potentially not playing as much as he used to, which is obviously a major concern for this team.

Nonetheless, Skip Bayless believes that the Lakers could still have a chance to win the NBA championship, even if LeBron isn’t their closer.

In the latest edition of his podcast, Bayless pointed out the fact that the Lakers were the only team with two top-10 NBA players on ESPN’s rankings: LeBron at No. 9 and Anthony Davis at No. 10.

Bayless thinks the Lakers are as deep and talented as any team in the league, so they can afford to let LeBron James get some rest and stay fresh for when it matters the most.

Contrary to what he’s done for most of his career, Bayless actually praised James and stated that he thinks he can still play at an elite level.

The Lakers need the supporting cast to step up and take a leap forward.

As good as he is, LeBron is soon to be 39 years old.

You just can’t expect a 39-year-old player to shoulder the weight and lead you to the promised land, not even if that guy is LeBron James.
