Postecoglou makes major Spurs decision and it will impact the rest of the season

It’s time for the latest episode of Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham as our Spurs reporters Alasdair Gold and Rob Guest discuss the latest news at the club
Ange Postecoglou has made a big decision at Tottenham Hotspur after the transfer window has closed with the club unable to sign any new players.
The Spurs boss has sanctioned moves for both Tanguy Ndombele and Davinson Sanchez to leave the club for Turkish side Galatasaray this week. Ndombele will join on loan with an option to buy and Sanchez on a permanent deal as Tottenham look to get some money for a player who has just nine months left on his contract.
The Sanchez deal in particular is a big decision from Postecoglou as the Colombian was featuring in his side this season and his departure will leave Spurs without a defender who did fit the Australian’s system because of his pace with Tottenham now unable to bring in a replacement.
The move leaves Postecoglou with the only natural centre-back back-ups to Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven being Eric Dier, who has not been able to get in a matchday squad so far this season with question marks over his ability to operate in Spurs’ high line, as well as 18-year-old Ashley Phillips, who only has eight games in the Championship to his name.
There is also experienced left-back Ben Davies, who can play as a centre-back if required but more effectively in a back three. Tottenham will have to get by with those options until the January transfer window when they will likely move for a long-term replacement for Sanchez.
Our Tottenham reporters Alasdair Gold and Rob Guest discuss the decision from the boss and club as well as the 5-2 victory at Burnley and the transfer window as a whole in the latest episode of their podcast Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham.
