Ryan Gravenberch is back on Liverpool’s wish list with the Reds now in ongoing talks to sign the Bayern Munich star.

That is according to Foot Mercato reporter Santi Aouna, who claims that Liverpool are pushing for Gravenberch once again.

The Dutchman was linked with Liverpool earlier in the window but the rumours went completely quiet.

Aouna claims that talks are now ongoing between Liverpool and Gravenberch’s representatives in the hope of finding an agreement.

Gravenberch is believed to be open to joining Liverpool, which certainly helps Liverpool’s cause right now.

This comes after Fabrizio Romano reported just last week that Jurgen Klopp and Jorg Schmadtke both want Gravenberch.

Romano claimed that Liverpool ‘love’ Gravenberch and it looks like the pursuit is back on after missing out on Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.

We can understand why Liverpool like Gravenberch.

The 21-year-old has been branded ‘very dominant’ by his former coach Brian Tevreden and certainly dazzled in the Ajax midfield.

A huge presence at 6ft 3in tall, Gravenberch only left Ajax for a move to Bayern in a £21million deal last summer.

First-team minutes have been hard to come by for Gravenberch but he clearly has huge talent.

Is he really what Liverpool need right now though?

Gravenberch’s best work comes as a box-to-box midfield player, using his range to get forward from midfield when possible.

Liverpool are now seeking a number six, somebody who can sit in front of the back four and provide. Solid base.

Gravenberch could grow into that kind of player but he is better with the freedom to go forward at this stage in his development.

Throwing him straight in as a holding midfielder would be a bold decision for Liverpool but maybe Klopp and Schmadtke have seen something in his game.
