Everton continued their losing streak as Tottenham won 3-0 in the Premier League on Sunday.
The Hill Dickinson Stadium hosted Spurs on 26 October, with the Toffees suffering their first defeat in their new home against Thomas Frank’s team.
Despite the loss and another poor performance from Beto, David Moyes can certainly take some encouragement from Thierno Barry’s performance after replacing the Guinea-Bissau striker in the 66th minute.
The game could’ve gone differently for the Blues, and the Scottish manager may feel hard done by some of the refereeing decisions in the game.

Jake O’Brien unlucky to have Everton goal disallowed vs Tottenham
Alan Shearer doesn’t think Guglielmo Vicario would’ve been able to stop the header from Jake O’Brien, irrespective of Iliman Ndiaye being in an offside position.

The Toffees’ centre-back found the back of the net in the 24th minute and thought he’d equalised at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, but the Senegal international was adjudged to have interfered with play after a VAR check.
O’Brien’s goal could’ve changed the entire complexion of the game as Tottenham scored their second just before the break, before Pape Matar Sarr added a third late on.
Speaking on The Rest Is Football on 27 October, Shearer said, “It doesn’t sit easy with me. It’s very difficult to argue with the laws because there’s no way the keeper’s stopping that anyway, irrespective of whether someone’s in front of him or not,” to which Lineker responded, “I agree.”
The Merseyside outfit have dropped to 14th in the Premier League table and face high-flying Sunderland next on 3 November.

While O’Brien’s disallowed goal at the Hill Dickinson Stadium has been the talking point after losing to Spurs, Moyes must take responsibility for the overall result.
Everton are six points ahead of 18th-place Nottingham Forest, something that shouldn’t be the case in L4.

Fans were expecting the Scottish manager to compete for a European spot in the Premier League after being handed the likes of Jack Grealish in the summer, but that hasn’t been the case.
While the Blues had a few chances to score, Tottenham were the better team in the end, and Moyes has to find a solution for the recent defensive worries that could potentially plague their season.
