Roy Keane surprisingly disagrees with a suggestion about Everton hero Duncan Ferguson

Premier League great Roy Keane has shared his very honest thoughts on Everton legend Duncan Ferguson.

Former Everton striker Ferguson used his physicality in games and was known as one of the most challenging strikers to come up against.

Roy Keane has now dropped his verdict on Ferguson after being asked which players he really did not like playing against.

Earlier this season, Keane backed Everton to take some positive strides in the Premier League following their summer business.

The former Manchester United midfielder is known as one of the toughest players to ever grace the English top flight.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Keane was asked who was the most annoying player to play against, with Micah Richards prompting an answer on Ferguson.

“I didn’t like the sneaky ones. Obviously, I played in midfield so I didn’t mind people hitting me or me hitting them. There was some people leaving kind of elbows,” said Keane.

“No, Dunc was okay. He is [a big striker] but I didn’t think Duncan was sneaky like some of the others. It’s the sneakiness that I didn’t like.”

Ferguson clearly has the respect of Keane, with the former Everton man known by those within the game to have been one of the most physically challenging players about.

Earlier on in the year, Ferguson, Keane and Ian Wright were sat around the Stick to Football table to discuss the Scot’s career and life.

Keane and Wright were so impressed by Ferguson and some of the things which he has been through both on and off the pitch.

There is a clear respect from a lot of people around the game, with his physical nature but charm away from the action.

But the Man United legend has previously admitted that he did try and attempt to avoid Ferguson during matches.

“I used to stay away from him. We’re talking about characters earlier and he’s certainly that,” Keane said a number of years ago.

“He was a top, top player and he’s obviously been promoted up the last two or three weeks to work with the first-team and no doubt the strikers at Everton will learn a lot from him. “
