After turning down Everton, transfer target has now lost the ‘trust’ of his teammates

An Everton transfer target might regret his decision to reject David Moyes, as he’s now been dropped.

At the end of the transfer window, Everton were probably satisfied with the business done, even after missing out on a few names.

Not signing a right-back could be detrimental as the season goes on, but for the time being, Moyes has a solid squad.

All eyes will be on January, but Everton could still sign a free agent if things do go wrong with the Toffees.

There was another face who could have been signed, but he chose to turn down the Blues’ proposal, and things have turned sour for him now.

A late target that emerged after the window slammed shut was Rangers midfielder Nicolas Raskin.

Everton.News reported that Raskin rejected Everton as the Blues were one of the sides interested in the Belgian, who is proving to be a high-quality asset.

Well, it seems like his decision not to make a move has backfired, as Gers boss Russell Martin has decided to drop the 24-year-old ahead of their Scottish Premiership fixture against Hearts this Saturday.

Martin said in the pre-match press conference: “He won’t be in the squad tomorrow. We have a lot of conversations as we do with every player, but he’s back training with the squad, which is a good step.

“Now, like every player, he has a duty to make sure he earns the trust of all his other teammates, coaching staff, and the staff in the building to help us win football matches. It’s the same for every player here.

“The most important thing is Nico knows why, the players know why, and we all move forward, and we have to win football matches now.”

Clearly, the midfielder’s antics in the summer warranted a punishment, and his relationship with the club looks tarnished; however, his chance to sign for Everton now probably ceases to exist.

It seemed like the Belgian international was of Moyes’ interest, but after Merlin Rohl’s services have been secured, there doesn’t seem to be a need for Raskin now.

Rohl is impressing in training, as the German looks to nail down a central midfield role at the Toffees, with the all-action star being similar to how Raskin plays.

The impact from the 23-year-old is being shown across the club, as Moyes is pleased with Rohl’s start as well.
