Ally McCoist holds his hands up after brutally honest Everton prediction proven wrong
Ally McCoist has admitted he has been completely stunned with something he has noticed at Everton this season.
It has been a strong start to the season for the Toffees, with David Moyes carrying over the positive work done last season.
Everton have put six points on the board, with an intriguing match-up against Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon.
Moyes has added real quality at Everton in the market, through the signing of players like Jack Grealish.

The Toffees could end the weekend sitting inside the top four if they are able to secure three points and results elsewhere go their way.
Moyes has proven Simon Jordan wrong already, and his TalkSPORT colleague, McCoist, is now admitting he may be wrong about something at Everton.

Jordan also thought Grealish was not a Moyes-type player, which already looks to be wrong with the 30-year-old shining on Merseyside.

No player in the Premier League has provided more assists (4) than Grealish through the opening three games.
Speaking on TalkSPORT, McCoist admitted he shared a very similar point of view to Jordan when it came to Moyes and Grealish.
“It’s amazing, because I’ve got to be brutally honest and tell you that I wasn’t sure he [Grealish] was Big Moyes’ type of player,” said McCoist.
“But fair play to Big Moyes because he’s got some talent in that team. Think about Iliman Ndiaye and players like that who are playing really, really well.
“Jack has like you do when you go to a new club the one thing you want to do is hit the ground running. And he has hit the ground running. It’s great to see him playing football the way we know he can.”
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall says no one is training harder than Grealish at Everton behind the scenes at Finch Farm.
Grealish has been provided an opportunity to rejuvenate his career at Everton, and it appears he is doing that with both hands.
The move is looking like a real masterstroke from the Fridkins, who certainly took a financial risk in signing Grealish.
It is believed that Everton are spending around £12m to loan Grealish for the 2025/26 campaign.
With four assists in the league, it would appear the 30-year-old is in a good place to get his career back on track.
Of course, a long season lies ahead, but Grealish has the dangling carrot of a potential return to the England squad in time for the World Cup.
Thomas Tuchel has been impressed with Grealish’s Everton start, and he knows he has to show some consistency ahead of next summer.
