Texas Tech guard Chance McMillian isn’t waiting for a “better time” to make a difference. At just 22 years old, he’s dropping $3.6 million of his own money to turn an abandoned property in Tennessee into something that will actually save lives: a safe, full-service shelter for homeless youth.

This isn’t a photo op. It’s personal. It’s permanent. And it’s powerful.

“Too many kids are sleeping in cars, on church steps, or in shelters that close at sunrise,” McMillian said. “Nobody’s coming to save them — so I will.”

It’s Called The Second Half Home. Here’s What It Will Do:

House up to 80 youth aged 13–24

Provide on-site therapy for trauma, addiction, and mental health

Offer job training, education support, and financial literacy

Serve three hot meals a day, every day

Connect youth to long-term housing and mentors

Rebuild lives. One kid at a time.
