Fabrizio Romano says £21m Tottenham target has now agreed terms to sign for Arsenal

Arsenal have made just one major signing so far in this summer transfer window in the shape of Riccardo Calafiori.
This has been a very quiet summer for Arsenal, but that could be about to change.
Indeed, Mikel Merino is close to joining Arsenal, and he may not be the only La Liga star headed to The Emirates.
Joan Garcia has been linked to Arsenal for a while now, and while it was reported that Garcia would prefer a move to Tottenham, it now looks as though the Gunners are leading this race.

Joan Garcia agrees personal terms with Arsenal
According to Fabrizio Romano, Joan Garcia has now agreed personal terms with Arsenal.
The Spanish goalkeeper has agreed to join the Gunners this summer, and the north London club now need to agree a fee with Espanyol.
Garcia has previously been valued at £21m.
Curiously, this link has emerged just as Wolves have made a move for Aaron Ramsdale, so it could be a case of one in, one out at Arsenal in the final weeks of the transfer window.
Joan Garcia a smart signing for Arsenal
This would be a smart signing for Arsenal.
Not only is Garcia a solid deputy for David Raya, he’s young enough to the point where he could improve and eventually challenge the Spaniard.
As the likes of Caoimhin Kelleher and Stefan Ortega have proven in recent years, having a good backup goalkeeper is important at the top of the Premier League, and if Arsenal are indeed to lose Ramsdale, they will need to replace him.
Arsenal could bring in two players from La Liga at the end of the transfer window as they close in on the signings of both Garcia and Merino.
Mikel Arteta’s Spanish influence is certainly being felt at Arsenal, but whether or not these signings are enough to propel the Gunners to a league title remains to be seen.

Barcelona now enter race to sign £25m attacker who Arsenal have held talks with
Arsenal have bided their time in the summer transfer window but are close to making their second signing.
Mikel Merino is on the verge of joining The Gunners after establishing himself as one of the best midfielders in La Liga over the last few seasons.
The Real Sociedad man is expected to complete a £25m switch to North London this week and could be available for the clash against Aston Villa.
Mikel Arteta has given Merino training drills to do in order to give him the best chance of making an immediate impact upon his arrival.
After that deal is completed, Arsenal could look to sign an attacker, though, one of their rumoured targets is now of interest to Barcelona.

Barcelona now wants Federico Chiesa
Arsenal have held talks with Federico Chiesa’s agent over a potential move to the Emirates Stadium this summer.
The Juventus wide player is out of contract in a year’s time and has been made available for sale, putting a number of suitors around Europe on red alert.
Chiesa was excluded from Juventus’ matchday squad against Como yesterday, so evidently a departure is expected to materialise before the window slams shut on August 30.
Though, now Arsenal are facing stiff competition for his signature, as Barcelona have just made contact with his agent, according to Di Marzio.
Federico Chiesa price tag slashed
Chiesa was thought to be valued at around £25m earlier in the window but there are now reports suggesting it could be much lower than that.
TBR reported earlier this month that Chiesa could cost just £13m, which suggests Juve is becoming increasingly desperate to move him on this window.
The Turin outfit won’t want to risk losing him on a free transfer next year, so forthcoming suitors could even negotiate that price down.
