Olympique Lyonnais are looking to bolster their offensive lineup by adding 19-year-old Yankuba Minteh to their shortlist. However, they face competition from Everton and Brighton to sign the Newcastle prospect.
Despite joining Newcastle just one season ago from Danish club Odense, Minteh may leave this summer without playing a single minute for the Magpies. Loaned to Feyenoord this season, the right winger had an impressive stint in the Netherlands, scoring 11 goals and providing six assists in 37 appearances across all competitions. His performance has garnered interest from multiple European clubs.
Everton and Brighton are both eyeing the Gambian international for a potential summer move, but Minteh’s future might be in Ligue 1. According to L’Équipe, Olympique Lyonnais have already made an offer to Newcastle and initiated negotiations with the player. It remains to be seen if Minteh will be swayed by Lyon’s ambitious plans under Pierre Sage.
