“Sell-On Clause Delays £15m Deal: Latest on Newcastle Transfers”

Newcastle United’s negotiations for Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford are being complicated by a sell-on percentage owed to Manchester City.

Trafford, 21, left Manchester City in 2023 after progressing through their youth system and moving to Burnley for £15 million. Due to Man City’s initial hesitation to sell, a sell-on clause was included, leading Burnley to seek optimal value for any potential sale.

After Burnley rejected a £16 million offer from Newcastle last week, Newcastle has been advised to increase their bid for the England Under-21 keeper. There is optimism that a £20 million deal can be reached, with Trafford’s personal terms reportedly not an issue.

The competition to sign Stuttgart’s star striker is intensifying, thanks to a tempting £15 million release clause. With 37 goals to his name, the 28-year-old has attracted attention from Arsenal, Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund, and AC Milan, although Newcastle has also shown interest.

Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeneß commented at the end of last season, “I have no reason to think that he will play his last game for us. Nevertheless, I’m not naive and understand there are interested parties. Ultimately, his decision will come down to his gut feeling. We have to wait.”Breaking:"Newcastle Owner Secures Nine-Figure Deal Surrounded by Everton Debt Crisis...Read more

Juan Musso

Italian newspapers report Newcastle’s interest in Argentina international Juan Musso. The 30-year-old serves as a backup goalkeeper for Atalanta, making 24 appearances last season. Atalanta paid nearly £20 million for Musso three years ago, and with one year left on his contract, he might come at a high price.
