“Leicester City Faces Scrutiny Over Two Potential Deduction Threats”.
Leicester City might face two points deductions within a single season due to financial breaches: a £40 million violation in 2022-23 and a potential second breach in 2023-24.
Finance expert Stefan Borson told Football Insider that Leicester risks another violation following their Championship-winning season.
In March, Leicester was charged for breaching Profit and Sustainability Rules in 2022-23, their last Premier League season, reporting a £90 million loss, exceeding the £105 million allowable limit.
This could result in a points deduction, possibly starting the 2024-25 Premier League season with negative points. Borson noted that Leicester’s issues extend into 2023-24, likely leading to a second points deduction.
