Rangers have prevailed in their compensation match against Dundee, who will now have to foot the tab after last season’s pitch mayhem. Near the close of the season, the Ibrox team traveled to Dens Park with their squad and staff for their Premiership match, but they were left in disarray when the rain forced the game to be postponed. Following a demand from club executives, the Dees will be responsible for paying the expenses incurred by the Gers, who checked their players into a hotel.
Frustrated, Dundee was informed that they should not be have to pay anything further after the SPFL had already hit them with a £186,000 fine, which the SFA had upheld following an appeal.
And now, the Scottish Sun reports that Rangers have received even worse news, with the decision going in their favor. It follows the Dees’ defeat in another verdict wherein St Johnstone was ordered to pay £15,000 for McDiarmid Park’s scheduling as an initial alternative site due to the possibility of a SIXTH postponement during the previous term. The team has already started an expensive renovation project on its stadium to save money should more postponements be required in the future.
