Everton signs a record-breaking attacker on a free transfer.
Daniel Jebbison, a free agent who will soon be available, has reportedly been approached by Everton this summer, per to HITC report. Despite the Blades’ best efforts to get the 20-year-old to sign new terms, the news outlet reports on its website (May 31) that he is expected to quit Bramall Lane when his contract expires.
Although Everton is among the teams who have genuinely made an effort to persuade the striker to transfer to Goodison Park and gain a head start on their rivals for his signature, the striker is drawing strong interest from teams like Leeds United. Will Everton bring in a new, gifted striker to bolster their ranks? Despite missing the entirety of the 2023–24 season due to a blood clot, which resulted in the Blades being demoted to the Championship, Jebbison is a highly regarded player in England.
However, the England youth international who was born in Canada made history in 2021 by being the youngest player to score on his full debut, and he hasn’t stopped impressing since.
With so much potential and even more space for growth, it seems sense that a number of teams are interested in signing him on a free transfer.
Though Everton undoubtedly needs more attacking alternatives, it’s debatable if a 20-year-old with little experience will truly solve their difficulties. It will be decided if both Youssef Chermiti and Dominic Calvert-Lewin are included in the squad alongside Beto and Dominic Calvert-Lewin because Chermiti is already a member of the squad and plays the same function.
However, Jebbison is a very gifted young athlete, and signing him for nothing will surely be a wise financial decision.
