Amadou Diallo has announced that he will depart from Newcastle United next month when his contract at St James’ Park expires.
The 21-year-old midfielder joined the Magpies from West Ham United in October 2022. He made several appearances for Newcastle’s Under-21 team and was first included in the first-team squad for an away win against Manchester United in the Carabao Cup.
Diallo was selected by manager Eddie Howe on five occasions during the season, making his Premier League debut in November as a late substitute in a win over Chelsea on Tyneside. The former England under-17 international also traveled to Australia for post-season matches against Tottenham Hotspur and an A-League All Stars team, where he played in both games and scored a penalty in the shootout victory over Tottenham.

Those two games in Australia marked Diallo’s final appearances in a Newcastle United shirt. He announced on Instagram that he would be leaving St. James’ Park at the end of the season, writing: “My time at @nufc has come to an end. Firstly, I would like to thank the club for giving me the great opportunity of playing for them. I would also like to give a massive thank you to the fans for their support as I really enjoyed representing the club.”
Diallo is among several young players set to depart from the club when their contracts expire this summer. Michael Ndiweni and Kyle Crossley have confirmed their exits, and Lucas De Bolle and Dylan Stephenson are also expected to leave.
