Details Regarding the Said Contract Requirements of Brandon Aiyuk Made Public.

The San Francisco 49ers have some off-field matters to attend to before they take the field to formally kick off the 2024 season and start what they believe would be a victorious run at the Super Bowl championship. Entering his final year on a contract, star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has refrained from participating in OTAs in an attempt to secure a lucrative extension from the team.

Aiyuk is supposedly seeking an extension akin to the one recently signed by Amon-Ra St. Brown of the Detroit Lions, according to Jeremy Fowler. St. Brown will receive $28 million annually from that agreement, and according to 95.7 The Game, Aiyuk is reportedly aiming to do a little better.Details Regarding the Said Contract Requirements of Brandon Aiyuk Made Public.

Aiyuk finished just short of St. Brown’s 1,515 yards and 10 touchdowns on 119 receptions in 2023, having caught 75 passes for 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns. The fact that Aiyuk hasn’t been named to a Pro Bowl yet while the latter has made two could potentially harm him in talks.

The 26-year-old Aiyuk has emerged as San Francisco’s top passing threat over the past few years and has become a bit of a safety net for quarterback Brock Purdy. Rumors circulated earlier in the offseason that San Francisco would try to trade him, so if negotiations break down as training camp approaches, it would seem highly likely that a trade would happen.

The 49ers’ chances of winning a title would be severely damaged if Aiyuk were to actually be traded.
