Just now: Liam Kelly consents to sign a “Stunning” transfer deal to join the Rangers at Ibrox.

According to the Scottish Sun, Liam Kelly has decided to sign with Rangers instead of Motherwell, with a “stunning” return to Ibrox planned.

The soon-to-be free agent goalie is prepared to work with Philippe Clement on his extensive reconstruction this summer, replacing Jack Butland as his deputy.

Kelly, 28, is rumored to have found it tough to turn down the offer, as he is expected to rejoin Rangers, his first-ever professional team.

Rangers will complete yet another fresh signing.

As Jose Cordoba prepares to relocate from Levski Sofia in Bulgaria to Ibrox, Clement and Nils Koppen’s summer renovations are already under way.

Given that Jon McLaughlin is ultimately expected to depart the club and that Robby McCrorie may also be leaving, adding someone for free in that area makes a lot of sense.

Kelly is likely aware going in that Butland has easily maintained his position as the top player at Ibrox and has had a terrific debut season.

The process of rebuilding a team involves more than just paying high salaries to famous players; acquiring Kelly for no cost could prove to be just as significant in the long run.

Since no moves are expected to be finalized before the Scottish Cup final on May 25 versus Celtic, this is definitely one to watch.

Kelly is scheduled to depart from Motherwell in June, so it appears that this one has already been arranged and should be announced really soon.
