Just in: Vodafone Fijiana XV Unveils Oceania Rugby Women’s Championship Team for 2024
Mosese Rauluni, the head coach of Vodafone Fijiana 15, has revealed his expanded roster for the 2024 Oceania Rugby Women’s Championship, which is set to take place at the end of this month.
Rauluni has added three foreign players to the mix while still having faith in the key members of the Fijian Drua Women’s squad.
Together with Bitila Tawake, who obtained invaluable experience while playing for Chiefs Manawa in New Zealand, the squad also includes Doreen Narokote and Iris Verebalavu, who recently finished their Super W campaigns with the Queensland Reds and the Brumbies, respectively.
Coach Rauluni expressed his satisfaction with the players’ selection and eagerness for the next, protracted international season.
We have reached the point where our primary goal is to qualify for the World Cup next year, so it’s a really crucial competition that we are entering.
“We have worked extremely hard these past two weeks, and as the team has been named, we have picked the majority from Drua for our first big game against Tonga,” Rauluni stated.
This month’s Oceania Rugby Women’s Championship is starting later, so the Vodafone Fijiana 15’s are ready for a demanding competition.
The Championship will start on May 24 and run through June 2.
