Everton stance shared by BBC journalist as Premier League set to announce PSR overhaul
BBC journalist Giulia Bould says Everton “would be OK” with the new financial regulations set to be announced by the Premier League.
Sky Sports reported on Monday (11 March) that the much derided current Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) are to be replaced.
A new system, which will align the Premier League with UEFA’s rules, is expected to be rolled out in time for the summer.
Writing on her personal Twitter page [11 March], Bould said: “Talk about changing the goalposts.
“Many more details on the financial regulations to come out so early stages of the details but I know I will be asked…
“At this early stage it is my understanding #EFC would be OK with the new rules.”
Everton awaiting news on second PSR charge
Everton have already twice been found guilty of breaching the PSR guidelines, with six points having already been deducted, and yet the Premier League has now decided to change them.
The timing of this decision has to be questioned. The Premier League is basically admitting the rules are not fit for purpose.

One case in point is that the current rate of inflation has not been factored into how much teams can lose over a three-year period.

This will all surely be factored into any appeals lodged by either – or more likely both – of those clubs.
It all just adds more weight to what Everton fans have know all along in that the Premier League does not really have a clue what it is doing.
