West Ham United manager David Moyes needs to ruthlessly drop one of his so-called stars as a matter of urgency.
David Moyes has overseen a disastrous run at West Ham over the past six weeks or so – one that has seen us tumble out of contention for a top six place.
Things are looking really bleak at the London Stadium right now, thanks in no small part to no wins since the end of December and a shambolic January transfer window.
Another main reason for our woeful run has been the awful form of Kurt Zouma, and the fact that he was made captain at the start of the season is a complete and utter joke as far as I’m concerned.
How can someone so unreliable from a fitness perspective and quite clearly past his best physically be given the responsibility of being club captain?
There have been some terrible decisions made at this football club over the past couple of decades, but I firmly believe that making Zouma such an integral part of this team is right up there with the very worst of them…

The 29-year-old Frenchman now needs to be dropped after a succession of horrific performances for the Hammers.

According to Salary Sport, Zouma currently earns around £100k-a-week at the London Stadium, and at the moment it kind of feels like he’s stealing a wage.
Konstantinos Mavropanos needs to come into the team now and partner Nayef Aguerd in central defence.
Moyes needs to be looking at signing a top-class centre-back in the summer, because Zouma is completely finished at Premier League level – he looks like he’s running with led weights tied to his legs!
The problem here is that Moyes has created an unnecessary problem for himself. It’s incredibly hard to drop your club captain.
The Scot should have foreseen at the start of the season that Zouma was on the downturn of his career, and named James Ward-Prowse, Edson Alvarez or Lucas Paqueta as club captain.
Alas, he chose Zouma, and now he has a very messy situation to deal with. West Ham manager David Moyes has a tendency to make things really hard for himself at times, and the Zouma problem he now faces is entirely of his own making.
I would like to see the Hammers go out and sign someone like Piero Hincapie or Jonathan Tah in the summer. It’s time that we all moved on from Kurt Zouma unfortunately.
