Paul Brown makes ‘more likely’ 777 Partners prediction at Everton amid takeover ‘waiting game’
It is more likely that 777 Partners walk away or are forced to walk away from their impending takeover of Everton if they don’t get approval.
That is according to journalist Paul Brown, who has explained that the situation is entirely in the hands of the Premier League.
Farhad Moshiri has become more involved with the Goodison Park club in recent weeks amid fears that the takeover will collapse.
“It is still just a waiting game, unfortunately,” Brown told GIVEMESPORT. “I can understand fans frustration on this and it can’t really go on forever from the club’s point of view.
“Everything is entirely in the hands of the Premier League. They need to decide whether these guys are fit and proper people to run Everton or not. There are no deadlines on this and I doubt that the loan money being pumped into the club is a bottomless pit.
“At some point, it’s more likely that 777 Partners walk away or are forced to walk away if they don’t get approval in the next few weeks. It’s difficult to foresee when a decision might be made if a decision is made at all, before 777 Partners decide to act. So Everton fans will just have to be patient.”
The Toffees have been forced to deal with problem after problem in recent years, both on and off the pitch. And unfortunately for Sean Dyche, the players, the fans and indeed the powers that be at Goodison Park, those problems do not look like going away anytime soon.
The friction between the Merseyside club and the Premier League is certainly understandable, with the two organisations currently in a battle in various areas.
Not only are Everton waiting for approval from the Premier League regarding the proposed takeover from 777, but they have also been on the receiving end of another financial fair play charge.
The Toffees have already been deducted 10 league points this season, which they are appealing, but face further punishment amid the second charge hanging over them.
The financial breaches that have resulted in punishment could have a direct impact on the 777 stance, with the US firm certain to walk away if the club get relegated this season, although they may make a decision long before that possibility.
