16-year-old called up to first-team Tottenham training by Ange Postecoglou
Ange Postecoglou is clearly prepared to give Tottenham Hotspur’s youth prospects the chance to develop at the club, and Mikey Moore is the latest academy star to spend some time with the Spurs senior squad after the 16-year-old was spotted in first-team training this week.
So far this season, we have already seen the likes of Ashley Phillips, Alfie Dorrington, Alejo Veliz, and Jamie Donley given the chance to step up from the youth squad at Tottenham.
While some of the young stars have managed to gain minutes, others have had to make do with the bench, but Ange Postecoglou is making it abundantly clear to the players that there are opportunities to be taken in his squad, regardless of age.
Now, you can add Mikey Moore to the list of prodigious talent getting closer to Postecoglou’s first-team plans, as the 16-year-old has been training with the men’s side this week.
In a post from The Spurs Express on Twitter, Moore was seen training with the senior squad on Monday, January 29th in advance of the Brentford game.

The youngster has been setting the world alight at Under-18 level this season, with nine goals and six assists in just nine appearances (Transfermarkt). If and when he is ready to make the step up to a matchday squad for the first-team remains to be seen.
There is a great degree of buzz surrounding Moore, who was named by The Guardian as Tottenham’s next big star for the future.
It would obviously be too soon for Moore to make his senior debut for Spurs, but if he continues at the rate he is, it won’t be long. We have a real talent on our hands here, and we have to ensure his development runs smoothly, but it’s very exciting to know that he is getting closer to the first team.
